I am divorce attorney Megan Rachel serving clients in Frisco, McKinney, Plano, and Allen Texas. For the last three decades, I have helped clients find closure to even the most emotionally charged and complex divorce proceedings. And I do this by offering dedicated support while also being a strong advocate. Rather than simply offering legal advice, I act as a guide and sounding board, doing all I can to put you at ease and ensure you feel you are in good hands.

Personalized Advice on All Aspects of Your Divorce

To help you choose the best approach to your divorce proceedings, I take great care to get to know your personality, your goals and your situation before offering advice on the most viable options. Once a course of action has been identified, I work diligently to help you resolve every aspect of your divorce, including:

  • Child custody: Resolving child custody disputes is often the most challenging and emotionally charged part of a divorce. Fortunately, there are a number of legal options available to help you resolve a dispute over custody, including negotiation, mediation and, if necessary, litigation. I have the experience needed to help you resolve even the most heated custody battle through the means that best fit your situation.
  • Child support: State guidelines largely determine which parent will pay child support to the other, and the amount of support to be paid. The formula considers many factors, including employment, income, custody and more. I will help you understand the state’s formula and raise any special concerns you may have that aren’t considered in the standard guidelines.
  • Property division: Contrary to popular belief, marital assets are not always divided evenly between the divorcing partners. Instead, the courts strive to create what is known as an equitable and fair division of property. In many cases, the court will consider the length of the marriage, the value of the assets, premarital holdings, and other aspects of the settlement when dividing assets. I offer the advice you need to set realistic property division goals and pursue the assets you value most.
  • Spousal support: Texas state law allows for divorcing spouses to pursue alimony or spousal support. The law does place restrictions on who qualifies for spousal support, the length of payments and the amount paid. I help you understand the state’s laws and whether spousal support is a realistic possibility in your divorce.

From start to finish, I am here to help you address all the legal, logistical and emotional aspects of your divorce proceedings, all in an effort to put you in the best possible situation to move forward with your life.
